[+] Literacy KC

Literacy KC is a non-profit organization that works to improve literacy among adults in the Kansas City area through individualized tutoring and classroom instruction, family education, and other specialized programs in collaboration with the KC Public Library System, the KC Public School System, the Office of the Mayor, and other private and public partners.

Jim Warden joined the Board in 2010, became its vice president in 2011,  its president in 2013, its past president in 2015, and the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2017.

[+] Volunteer Attorney Project

The Volunteer Attorney Project is the pro bono component of Legal Aid of Western Missouri, a non-profit organization. The Volunteer Attorney Project provides free legal services to eligible clients in 40-counties of western Missouri. Through the project, private attorneys agree to accept cases on a pro bono basis representing the homeless, senior citizens and others in need of, but unable to afford, legal assistance. Since 1982, the Volunteer Attorney Project has helped more that 13,600 clients to secure life's basics including habitable shelter, a safe haven from abusers, health care and education.
